Artist Info
Marco Vinco is a renowned Italian bass-baritone opera singer who has captivated audiences around the world with his powerful voice and commanding stage presence. Born on December 22, 1974, in the city of Venice, Italy, Vinco grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to classical music from a young age. His father was a professional cellist, and his mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that Vinco would follow in their footsteps and pursue a career in music. Vinco began his musical training at the age of six, studying piano and singing in the choir at his local church. He later attended the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, where he studied voice under the guidance of renowned vocal coach, Luciana Serra. Vinco's talent and dedication quickly became apparent, and he was soon invited to perform in various operas and concerts throughout Italy. In 1998, Vinco made his professional debut in the role of Colline in Puccini's "La Bohème" at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. This performance marked the beginning of a long and successful career for Vinco, who has since become one of the most sought-after bass-baritones in the world. Over the years, Vinco has performed in some of the most prestigious opera houses and concert halls in the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Vienna State Opera. He has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and directors in the industry, including Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, and Robert Carsen. One of Vinco's most notable performances was his portrayal of the title character in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" at the Salzburg Festival in 2008. His powerful voice and commanding stage presence earned him critical acclaim, and the performance was hailed as one of the highlights of the festival. Vinco has also received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2003, he was awarded the prestigious Abbiati Prize for Best Male Singer, and in 2010, he was named a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic for his contributions to the arts. Despite his many accomplishments, Vinco remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform regularly and is known for his passionate and emotive performances. His love for music and his commitment to excellence have made him one of the most respected and admired opera singers of his generation.More....
