Tallywood Strings is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2010 in Tallahassee, Florida. The group is made up of six members, all of whom are highly skilled musicians with a passion for classical music. The founding members of Tallywood Strings are violinists Corinne Stillwell and Megan Sahely, violist Sarah Morelli, cellist Greg Sauer, bassist David Otis, and pianist Sarah Foard. All six members had previously played together in various other ensembles and orchestras, and they decided to form Tallywood Strings in order to focus on playing chamber music together. Since its founding, Tallywood Strings has become known for its dynamic and engaging performances of classical music. The group has performed at a variety of venues throughout Florida and beyond, including concert halls, churches, and private events. One of the highlights of Tallywood Strings' career was their performance at the 2012 National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas. The group was invited to perform alongside flutist and composer Gary Schocker, and they received rave reviews for their performance of Schocker's "A Little Night Music" and other pieces. Tallywood Strings has also been recognized for its excellence in chamber music. In 2013, the group was awarded the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra's Chamber Music Award, which recognizes outstanding chamber music performances in the Tallahassee area. In addition to their performances, Tallywood Strings is also committed to music education. The group regularly performs for school groups and offers workshops and masterclasses for young musicians. They have also collaborated with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra's education program to bring classical music to underserved communities in the area.
