Ger de Zeeuw was a renowned classical music artist who was born on May 12, 1948, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He was the youngest of three children born to his parents, who were both music lovers. His father was a pianist, and his mother was a singer, and they encouraged Ger to pursue music from a young age. Ger began his musical education at the age of six when he started taking piano lessons. He showed a natural talent for the instrument and quickly progressed, winning his first piano competition at the age of nine.
