Peter Richard Conte is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a virtuoso organist, conductor, and arranger. Born on October 27, 1959, in Binghamton, New York, Conte grew up in a musical family and began playing the piano at the age of seven. He later discovered his love for the organ and began studying under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Tower, a prominent organist and teacher. Conte's talent and dedication to his craft quickly became apparent, and he went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied with John Weaver and Lionel Rogg. He also received a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied with Paul Jacobs. Throughout his career, Conte has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. He has also been a featured soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Boston Pops. One of Conte's most notable performances was his solo recital at the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia, which is the largest fully functioning pipe organ in the world. The recital, which was broadcast live on National Public Radio, showcased Conte's incredible skill and artistry on the instrument, and cemented his reputation as one of the world's foremost organists. In addition to his work as a performer, Conte is also an accomplished conductor and arranger. He has served as the principal conductor of the Wanamaker Organ for over 30 years, and has conducted numerous orchestras and choirs throughout the United States and Europe.
