Genre:ChoralRobert Brophy was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Brophy showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Brophy's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. He studied under renowned pianist and teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky, who recognized his exceptional talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Brophy continued his studies at the Juilliard School, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. During his time at Juilliard, he won numerous awards and competitions, including the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. After completing his studies at Juilliard, Brophy began performing professionally, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and versatile pianists of his generation, with a deep understanding of a wide range of musical styles. One of Brophy's most notable performances was his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2010. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the "Emperor" concerto, to critical acclaim.
