Konstantin Reymaier was born on May 15, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Konstantin showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Konstantin's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed his skills. By the age of ten, Konstantin had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigy. At the age of twelve, Konstantin was accepted into the Vienna Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Professor Rudolf Buchbinder. Under Professor Buchbinder's guidance, Konstantin honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. In 2003, Konstantin won first prize at the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, which marked a turning point in his career. The competition was highly competitive, with pianists from all over the world vying for the top prize. Konstantin's performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor, Op. 57, also known as the "Appassionata," was particularly impressive and earned him high praise from the judges. Following his success at the Beethoven Piano Competition, Konstantin began to receive invitations to perform at major concert halls around the world. He made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2005, where he performed a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt to critical acclaim. Over the years, Konstantin has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with many renowned conductors, such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, and Simon Rattle. One of Konstantin's most memorable performances was his rendition of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Vienna Philharmonic in 2010. The performance was broadcast live on television and was watched by millions of people around the world. Konstantin's interpretation of the concerto was praised for its sensitivity and emotional depth. In addition to his performances, Konstantin has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas. His recordings have received numerous awards, including the Gramophone Award for Best Instrumental Recording in 2012. Throughout his career, Konstantin has been recognized for his exceptional talent and dedication to classical music. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art in 2015 and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2018.
