Born in Sydney, Australia, on 16th August 1979, Elena grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a Greek Cypriot who played the bouzouki, while her mother was an Australian pianist. Elena's parents recognized her musical talent at a young age and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Elena began her musical training at the age of five, learning to play the piano and violin. She later took up singing and studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance. She continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where she earned a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance. Elena's career as a professional opera singer began in 2004 when she made her debut as Barbarina in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro" at the Royal Opera House in London.
