Born on May 22, 1978, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Krasteva showed an early interest in music and began singing in her local church choir at the age of six. Krasteva received her formal training at the National Academy of Music in Sofia, where she studied under the guidance of renowned Bulgarian soprano Raina Kabaivanska. She graduated with honors in 2002 and went on to win several prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix at the International Competition for Young Opera Singers in Sofia and the Special Prize at the International Competition for Opera Singers in Toulouse, France.
