Antonina grew up in a musical environment and showed an early interest in singing. At the age of 16, Antonina began her formal music education at the Kiev Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of the famous Ukrainian soprano, Solomiya Krushelnytska. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional vocal abilities and was soon invited to perform at various concerts and events. In 1896, Antonina made her professional debut at the Kiev Opera House, where she played the role of Aida in Verdi's opera of the same name. Her performance was a huge success, and she was praised for her powerful voice and dramatic interpretation. This marked the beginning of her illustrious career as a soprano. Antonina's talent soon caught the attention of the renowned Russian composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who invited her to perform in his opera, "The Queen of Spades," at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Her performance was a resounding success, and she was hailed as one of the most promising young sopranos of her time. Over the next few years, Antonina continued to perform in various operas and concerts across Europe, including Italy, Germany, and France. She was particularly well-received in Italy, where she performed in several productions of Verdi's operas, including "La Traviata" and "Il Trovatore." In 1904, Antonina was invited to perform at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she played the role of Mimi in Puccini's "La Boheme." Her performance was a huge success, and she was praised for her beautiful voice and emotional depth. She went on to perform in several other productions at the Metropolitan Opera, including "Madama Butterfly" and "Tosca."
