Monique Linval was born on May 12, 1985, in Paris, France. She was raised in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Monique showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Monique's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking private lessons with renowned violinists in Paris and quickly gained a reputation as a prodigy. At the age of ten, Monique made her debut performance at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, playing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3. Throughout her teenage years, Monique continued to hone her skills and perform at various venues across Europe. She won several prestigious competitions, including the International Violin Competition in Hanover, Germany, and the Menuhin Competition in London, UK. In 2003, Monique was invited to perform at the Salzburg Festival in Austria, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world. Her performance of Beethoven's Violin Concerto was met with critical acclaim, and she was hailed as one of the most promising young violinists of her generation. Over the next few years, Monique continued to perform at major venues and festivals around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras, including Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2008, Monique released her debut album, featuring works by Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. The album was a commercial and critical success, and Monique was praised for her technical prowess and emotional depth. In 2010, Monique was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides financial support to help them further their careers. The grant allowed Monique to continue performing and recording, and she released several more albums over the next few years. In 2015, Monique was invited to perform at the BBC Proms, one of the largest classical music festivals in the world. Her performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto was broadcast live on television and radio, and she received widespread praise for her interpretation of the piece. Throughout her career, Monique has been known for her passionate and expressive playing, as well as her dedication to promoting classical music to a wider audience. She has collaborated with several contemporary composers and has premiered several new works written specifically for her.
