Peter McCarthy was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Peter showed a keen interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. Peter's talent was quickly recognized, and he was accepted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London at the age of 16. He studied under the tutelage of renowned cellist Steven Isserlis and graduated with honors in 2005. After completing his studies, Peter began his professional career as a cellist, performing with various orchestras and ensembles across Europe. In 2007, he was invited to perform at the BBC Proms, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world.
