Carmen-Elena Rotaru is a Romanian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on December 22, 1981, in Bucharest, Romania, Rotaru showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with renowned piano teachers in Romania. Rotaru's musical education continued at the National University of Music in Bucharest, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance in 2004. She then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the same institution, which she completed in 2006. During her time at the university, Rotaru studied with some of the most respected piano teachers in Romania, including Viniciu Moroianu, Dan Grigore, and Carmen Piațrașcu. Rotaru's talent and dedication to her craft soon began to attract attention, and she was invited to perform at a number of prestigious music festivals and competitions. In 2003, she won first prize at the George Enescu International Piano Competition in Bucharest, one of the most important music competitions in Romania. This victory helped to launch her career as a professional pianist and led to invitations to perform at other competitions and festivals around the world. Over the years, Rotaru has performed at some of the most renowned concert halls and music festivals in Europe, Asia, and North America. She has been a featured soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra, the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. Her performances have been praised for their technical brilliance, emotional depth, and musical sensitivity. One of the highlights of Rotaru's career came in 2010, when she was invited to perform at the prestigious Chopin Festival in Warsaw, Poland. This festival is dedicated to the music of Frederic Chopin, one of the most important composers in the history of classical music. Rotaru's performance at the festival was widely acclaimed, and she was praised for her ability to capture the essence of Chopin's music. In addition to her work as a performer, Rotaru is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught piano at the National University of Music in Bucharest and has given masterclasses and workshops at universities and music schools around the world.
