Born on December 23, 1959, in Florence, Italy, Desderi grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a tenor and his mother was a pianist, and they both encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Desderi began his musical training at a young age, studying piano and singing. He later attended the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, where he studied voice under the guidance of Maestro Carlo Bergonzi. After completing his studies, Desderi made his professional debut in 1985, performing the role of Figaro in Rossini's "The Barber of Seville" at the Teatro Comunale in Florence. Desderi's career quickly took off, and he began performing in major opera houses around the world. He made his debut at La Scala in Milan in 1987, performing the role of Guglielmo in Mozart's "Così fan tutte." He also performed at the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Vienna State Opera, among others.
