From a young age, Palocz showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Palocz's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest when he was just six years old. He studied under some of the most respected piano teachers in Hungary, including Gyorgy Sandor and Zoltan Kocsis. Palocz's talent quickly became apparent, and he began winning competitions and awards at a young age. In 1995, he won first prize at the National Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Hungary. He went on to win several other competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Vienna in 2001 and the International Piano Competition in Moscow in 2003. In 2004, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, performing a solo recital to critical acclaim.
