Role:ConductorRobert Reimer was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Reimer showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Reimer's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. He studied under renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky and quickly became one of her star pupils. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, Reimer won numerous competitions and awards, including the prestigious Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in 2001. He also performed as a soloist with several major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. After graduating from the Juilliard School, Reimer attended Harvard University, where he studied music and philosophy. He continued to perform and compete during his time at Harvard, winning the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009. Following his graduation from Harvard, Reimer embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. He has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Reimer is known for his virtuosic technique and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he plays. He has a particular affinity for the works of Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff, and has recorded several critically acclaimed albums of their music. In addition to his performing career, Reimer is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught masterclasses at universities and conservatories around the world, and has served on the faculty of the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division. Throughout his career, Reimer has received numerous accolades and awards. In 2012, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. He has also been named a Steinway Artist, an honor reserved for the world's most accomplished pianists. Despite his success, Reimer remains humble and dedicated to his craft.
