His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Jacob's musical education began at the Berlin Conservatory, where he studied piano and composition. He later continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer, Carl Orff. Jacob's time in Munich was a formative period in his career, as he was exposed to a wide range of musical styles and techniques. After completing his studies, Jacob began his career as a concert pianist, performing in various venues across Europe. He quickly gained a reputation for his technical skill and musical sensitivity, and his performances were praised by audiences and critics alike. One of the highlights of Jacob's early career was his performance at the Salzburg Festival in 1956.
