Robert Bonnevie was born on May 12, 1985, in Paris, France. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Bonnevie showed a natural talent for music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Bonnevie began his musical education at the age of five, studying the piano with his father. He quickly progressed and started performing in public at the age of eight. At the age of ten, he began studying the violin with his mother, and by the age of twelve, he had already won several local competitions. His recording of the complete Beethoven Violin Sonatas with pianist Maria João Pires was also highly acclaimed, and it won the Diapason d'Or in 2015. Throughout his career, Bonnevie has received numerous awards and honors. In 2011, he was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in recognition of his contributions to the arts. In 2014, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is one of the most prestigious awards for young musicians in the United States. Despite his success, Bonnevie remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform regularly and is committed to promoting classical music to a wider audience.
