Artist Info
Detlev Eisinger is a renowned classical pianist and chamber musician who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and deep musical insight. Born in Germany in 1970, Eisinger began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, where he received his diploma with distinction in 1995. Eisinger's early career was marked by a series of impressive accomplishments, including winning first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, in 1993, and being named a laureate at the International Piano Competition in Porto, Portugal, in 1994. He also performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. In the years that followed, Eisinger established himself as one of the most sought-after chamber musicians of his generation, collaborating with some of the world's leading instrumentalists and vocalists. He has performed at major festivals and concert halls throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. Eisinger's repertoire is vast and varied, encompassing works from the Baroque to the contemporary era. He is particularly renowned for his interpretations of the music of J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms, as well as for his advocacy of lesser-known composers such as Hans Gál, Erwin Schulhoff, and Viktor Ullmann. One of the highlights of Eisinger's career was his performance of Bach's Goldberg Variations at the Berlin Philharmonic in 2007. The concert was hailed as a triumph by critics and audiences alike, with the Berliner Zeitung praising Eisinger's "unfailing sense of style and phrasing" and the Tagesspiegel describing his playing as "a revelation of the highest order." Eisinger has also been recognized for his recordings, which have received critical acclaim and numerous awards. His recording of Schubert's late piano works was named "Editor's Choice" by Gramophone magazine, while his recording of Brahms's piano quartets with the Mandelring Quartet was awarded the Diapason d'Or. In addition to his performing and recording career, Eisinger is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, and has given masterclasses throughout Europe and Asia. Throughout his career, Eisinger has remained committed to exploring the depths of the piano repertoire and sharing his passion for music with audiences around the world. His performances are marked by a rare combination of technical brilliance, emotional depth, and intellectual rigor, making him one of the most compelling and inspiring musicians of his generation.More....
