Safri Duo is a Danish classical music ensemble that was founded in 1988 by percussionists Uffe Savery and Morten Friis. The duo is known for their unique blend of classical music and percussion, which has earned them international acclaim and numerous awards. Uffe Savery was born in 1966 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He began playing the piano at a young age and later studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Morten Friis was born in 1968 in Aarhus, Denmark. He also began playing music at a young age and later studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. The two musicians met while studying at the academy and quickly discovered a shared passion for percussion. They began performing together as a duo and soon gained a reputation for their innovative approach to classical music. In 1990, Safri Duo released their debut album, "Safri Duo," which featured a mix of classical and contemporary music.
