Hera Hyesang Park is a South Korean soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on December 31, 1986, in Seoul, South Korea, Park grew up in a family that valued music. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a businessman who loved classical music. Park started singing at a young age and showed a natural talent for it. She began taking voice lessons when she was 14 years old and quickly realized that she wanted to pursue a career in music. Park attended Yonsei University in Seoul, where she studied voice under the guidance of Professor Kim Sun-Ok. She also participated in various competitions and won several awards, including the Grand Prize at the 2007 National Music Competition in Korea. In 2008, she was awarded the prestigious Korean Government Scholarship to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in Germany. During her time in Germany, Park continued to hone her skills and participated in various competitions. In 2010, she won the First Prize and Audience Prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, Austria. This was a significant achievement for Park, as the competition is known for being one of the most prestigious in the world. Park's success at the Mozart Competition opened many doors for her, and she began to receive invitations to perform at major opera houses and concert halls around the world. In 2011, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival, where she performed the role of Barbarina in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro." This was followed by her debut at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, where she performed the role of Papagena in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte." Park's career continued to flourish, and she went on to perform at many other prestigious venues, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Paris Opera. She has also worked with some of the most renowned conductors in the world, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. One of Park's most significant achievements was her performance in the title role of Handel's "Semele" at the Salzburg Festival in 2017. Her performance was widely praised by critics, who described her as a "sensational soprano" with a "dazzling voice." The performance was also recorded and released on DVD, further cementing Park's reputation as one of the most talented sopranos of her generation. In addition to her work on the opera stage, Park is also a sought-after concert performer. She has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic.
