Born in London in 1978, Hussain grew up in a musical family and began playing the piano at a young age. He attended the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied piano and conducting. Hussain's career as a conductor began in 2002, when he was appointed as the assistant conductor of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. He quickly made a name for himself as a talented and versatile conductor, and has since conducted at some of the world's most prestigious opera houses and orchestras. One of Hussain's early highlights as a conductor was his debut at the Royal Opera House in London in 2009, where he conducted a production of Mozart's "Don Giovanni".
