Charles Senderovitz was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with both his parents being professional classical musicians. His father was a renowned cellist, and his mother was a pianist. Charles was exposed to classical music from a very young age and showed a keen interest in it. Charles started playing the piano when he was just four years old. His mother was his first teacher, and he quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. By the time he was six, he was already performing in public, and his parents knew that he had a bright future ahead of him. Charles continued to study the piano throughout his childhood and teenage years. He attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world. He also attended masterclasses with some of the greatest pianists of our time, including Martha Argerich, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Lang Lang. In 2005, Charles won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. This competition is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world and is held every four years in Fort Worth, Texas. Charles was only 20 years old at the time, and his win catapulted him to international fame. After winning the Van Cliburn Competition, Charles began to perform all over the world. He played with some of the most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He also performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonie. Charles has won numerous awards throughout his career. In addition to the Van Cliburn Competition, he has won the International Tchaikovsky Competition, the International Chopin Piano Competition, and the International Beethoven Piano Competition. He has also been awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Gilmore Artist Award, and the Arthur Rubinstein Prize. Charles is known for his virtuosic playing and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he plays. He is particularly renowned for his interpretations of the works of Chopin, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff. He has recorded numerous albums, including a complete cycle of the Beethoven piano sonatas and the Chopin Nocturnes. In addition to his performing career, Charles is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught masterclasses all over the world and has been a faculty member at the Juilliard School, the Curtis Institute of Music, and the Royal Academy of Music in London.
