Éva Borhi is a Hungarian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born in Budapest in 1989, Borhi began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. Borhi's early career was marked by numerous awards and accolades. In 2007, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome, and in 2008, she was a finalist at the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas. She also won first prize at the International Piano Competition in San Marino in 2010 and the International Piano Competition in Pinerolo, Italy in 2011. Borhi's performances have taken her to some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. She has collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. One of Borhi's most notable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2012, where she performed a program of works by Beethoven, Liszt, and Bartók. The New York Times praised her "impressive technique and musicality," and noted that she "played with a sense of authority and conviction that belied her youth." Borhi has also made a name for herself as a chamber musician, collaborating with some of the world's most renowned instrumentalists and vocalists. She has performed with violinist Joshua Bell, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and soprano Renée Fleming, among others. In addition to her performing career, Borhi is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught masterclasses at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London, and has served as a jury member for several international piano competitions. Borhi's repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing works from the Baroque era to the present day. She has a particular affinity for the music of Beethoven, Liszt, and Bartók, and has recorded several albums of their works. Her recordings have received critical acclaim, with Gramophone magazine praising her "impeccable technique and musicality."
