The Ravel Piano Duo is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 by the pianists Olena Klyucharova and Vadym Kholodenko. The duo is named after the French composer Maurice Ravel, whose music they frequently perform. Olena Klyucharova was born in Ukraine and began playing the piano at the age of six. She studied at the National Music Academy of Ukraine and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany. Vadym Kholodenko was also born in Ukraine and began playing the piano at the age of six. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and later at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. The Ravel Piano Duo has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. They have appeared at major concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Carnegie Hall, and the Royal Albert Hall. The duo has also performed with many orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of the Ravel Piano Duo's career was their performance at the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Vadym Kholodenko was a contestant in the competition and won the gold medal. The Ravel Piano Duo also performed at the competition's gala concert, where they received a standing ovation.
