Role:ConductorNoëlle Schepens is a Belgian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist and chamber musician. She was born on December 12, 1985, in Ghent, Belgium, and grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a conductor, and her mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that Noëlle would develop a love for music at a young age. Noëlle began playing the piano when she was just four years old, and by the time she was six, she was already performing in public. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. During her studies, she won several awards, including the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Ettlingen, Germany, and the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship. After completing her studies, Noëlle continued to perform and compete in various international competitions. In 2010, she won the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome, Italy, and in 2011, she was a finalist at the International Piano Competition in Leeds, UK. These achievements helped to establish her as a rising star in the classical music world. Noëlle has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Philharmonie de Paris, and the Wigmore Hall in London. She has also collaborated with many renowned musicians, including cellist Pieter Wispelwey and violinist Janine Jansen. One of Noëlle's most memorable performances was at the 2012 BBC Proms, where she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and was met with critical acclaim. The Guardian described her playing as "exquisite," and The Times praised her "sensitive and intelligent interpretation." In addition to her career as a soloist, Noëlle is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has performed with various ensembles, including the Nash Ensemble and the Doric String Quartet. In 2014, she formed the Schepens Trio with cellist Benedict Kloeckner and violinist Liza Ferschtman. The trio has since performed at many festivals and concert series throughout Europe. Noëlle is also a dedicated teacher and has given masterclasses at various institutions, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She is currently a professor of piano at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. Throughout her career, Noëlle has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2013, she was awarded the Klara Career Prize, which is given to young Belgian musicians who show exceptional talent and promise. She was also named a BBC New Generation Artist in 2012, which is a prestigious program that supports young musicians in the early stages of their careers. Noëlle Schepens is a talented and accomplished classical music artist who has made a significant impact on the music world. Her dedication to her craft and her passion for music have earned her a reputation as one of the most exciting pianists of her generation.More....
