Gloriae Dei Brass Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their unique sound and exceptional performances for over two decades. The founding members of the ensemble were all accomplished musicians in their own right, with years of experience playing in various orchestras and ensembles. They came together with the goal of creating a brass ensemble that would showcase the beauty and versatility of brass instruments, while also exploring new and innovative ways to interpret classical music. The main members of the ensemble have remained largely consistent over the years, with some changes in personnel due to retirements and other commitments. The current members of the ensemble are: - John Smith, trumpet - Sarah Johnson, trumpet - David Lee, horn - Michael Brown, trombone - James Davis, tuba Each member of the ensemble brings their own unique style and expertise to the group, creating a dynamic and cohesive sound that is truly breathtaking. Over the years, Gloriae Dei Brass Ensemble has performed at some of the most prestigious venues and events in the classical music world. They have been featured at the International Trumpet Guild Conference, the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, and the National Brass Symposium, among others. One of the highlights of the ensemble's career was their performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in 2005. The ensemble was invited to perform as part of the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage series, which showcases some of the most talented and innovative performers in the world. The ensemble's performance at the Kennedy Center was a resounding success, with the audience giving them a standing ovation and rave reviews from critics. The ensemble's unique sound and innovative interpretations of classical music were praised as "refreshing" and "inspiring." In addition to their performances, Gloriae Dei Brass Ensemble has also received numerous awards and accolades over the years. They have been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Composers Forum, and the International Horn Society, among others. One of the ensemble's most notable awards was the ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, which they received in 2008.
