The MDR Leipzig Radio Chamber Orchestra is a renowned classical music ensemble based in Leipzig, Germany. Founded in 1950, the orchestra has established itself as one of the leading chamber orchestras in Europe, known for its exceptional musicianship and innovative programming. The orchestra was originally founded as the Radio Chamber Orchestra Leipzig, under the auspices of the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR), a public broadcasting corporation in Germany.
