Hasse Borup is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violinist, chamber musician, and educator. Born in Denmark, Borup began his musical journey at a young age, showing a natural talent for the violin. He received his early training in Denmark before moving to the United States to further his studies. Borup's talent and dedication to his craft quickly became apparent, and he soon began to make a name for himself in the classical music world. He has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has also been a featured performer at many prestigious music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival, the Banff Centre for the Arts, and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. In addition to his solo work, Borup is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has performed with many of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Borup-Ernst Duo, the Borup-Kristensen Duo, and the Borup-Jørgensen Duo. He has also collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians, including pianist Robert McDonald, cellist David Finckel, and violinist Cho-Liang Lin. Borup's dedication to his craft has earned him numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. He has been the recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, as well as the National Endowment for the Arts Solo Recitalist Grant. He has also been a finalist in the Naumburg International Violin Competition and the Irving M. Klein International String Competition. In addition to his performing career, Borup is also an accomplished educator. He is currently a professor of violin at the University of Utah, where he has been on the faculty since 2007. He has also taught at many other prestigious institutions, including the Peabody Conservatory of Music, the University of Maryland, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
