Gevorg Gharabekyan is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. He was born on December 12, 1985, in Yerevan, Armenia. From a young age, Gharabekyan showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Gharabekyan's early musical education began at the Tchaikovsky Music School in Yerevan, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Lilit Khachatryan. He later continued his studies at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance. During his time at the conservatory, Gharabekyan was mentored by renowned pianist and professor, Armen Babakhanian. Gharabekyan's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skills. In 2003, he won first prize at the National Piano Competition in Armenia, and in 2005, he was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Greece. These early successes paved the way for Gharabekyan's future career as a classical pianist. In 2007, Gharabekyan moved to the United States to further his musical education. He enrolled in the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York City, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and professor, Nina Svetlanova. During his time at the Manhattan School of Music, Gharabekyan continued to excel in his studies and was awarded the Helen Cohn Award for Excellence in Piano Performance. Gharabekyan's talent and hard work paid off when he began to receive invitations to perform at major music festivals and venues around the world. In 2010, he made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York City, where he performed a solo recital to critical acclaim. He has since performed at other prestigious venues, including the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic Hall in Germany. Gharabekyan's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance, emotional depth, and musical sensitivity. He has a particular affinity for the works of classical composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff, and his interpretations of their music have been described as "spellbinding" and "mesmerizing." In addition to his solo performances, Gharabekyan has also collaborated with other musicians and ensembles. He has performed with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has also worked with renowned conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Lorin Maazel, and Zubin Mehta. Gharabekyan's talent and dedication to music have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for a career in classical music. He has also been awarded the Arthur Rubinstein Prize, the Gina Bachauer Prize, and the Van Cliburn Prize, among others. Despite his many achievements, Gharabekyan remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to practice for hours every day, striving to perfect his technique and interpretation of the music he loves. He is also committed to sharing his knowledge and passion for music with others, and he frequently gives masterclasses and workshops to young musicians.
