Artist Info
Alexandre Silvério is a Brazilian classical pianist and composer who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and innovative compositions. Born in São Paulo in 1987, Silvério showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument, and by the time he was a teenager, he was already performing in public concerts and competitions. Silvério's early training was heavily influenced by the classical tradition, and he spent many hours practicing the works of Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. However, he was also drawn to the music of contemporary composers, and he began experimenting with his own compositions at a young age. This interest in both the classical and modern styles would become a hallmark of his career. In 2005, Silvério was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. There, he continued to refine his technique and expand his repertoire, studying with some of the most renowned pianists in the world. He also began to gain recognition as a composer, with several of his works being performed by fellow students and faculty members. After graduating from Juilliard in 2009, Silvério embarked on a career as a soloist and chamber musician. He quickly gained a reputation for his dynamic and expressive performances, which combined technical precision with emotional depth. He also continued to compose, creating works that blended classical forms with contemporary harmonies and rhythms. One of Silvério's most notable performances came in 2012, when he was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The concert, which was part of the center's "Fortas Chamber Music Concerts" series, featured Silvério performing works by Beethoven, Chopin, and his own compositions. The performance was widely praised for its virtuosity and musicality, and cemented Silvério's reputation as one of the most exciting young pianists of his generation. In addition to his solo work, Silvério has also collaborated with a number of other musicians and ensembles. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic, among others. He has also worked with a variety of chamber groups, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Kronos Quartet. Silvério's compositions have also been widely performed and recorded. His works have been featured on numerous albums, including his own debut album, "Reflections," which was released in 2014. The album features a mix of original compositions and arrangements of classical works, and showcases Silvério's unique blend of classical and contemporary styles. Throughout his career, Silvério has received numerous awards and honors for his work. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for a career in classical music. He has also been a recipient of the Gilmore Young Artist Award, the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Despite his many accomplishments, Silvério remains committed to his craft and continues to push the boundaries of classical music. He is known for his innovative programming, which often features works by lesser-known composers alongside more familiar pieces.More....
