María Rey-Joly is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in Madrid, Spain, on May 12, 1975, María Rey-Joly showed an early interest in music. Her parents, both musicians, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. María Rey-Joly began her musical education at the age of six, studying piano with her mother. She later studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, where she received a degree in piano performance. She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany, where she studied with renowned pianist and teacher, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. María Rey-Joly's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age. She won her first piano competition at the age of nine and went on to win numerous awards and prizes throughout her career. In 1993, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain, and in 1995, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Porto, Portugal. María Rey-Joly's career as a concert pianist began in earnest in the late 1990s. She made her debut with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra in 1997, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. This performance was widely acclaimed, and María Rey-Joly quickly established herself as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. Over the years, María Rey-Joly has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors of our time, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Zubin Mehta. María Rey-Joly's repertoire is vast and varied, encompassing works by composers from Bach to Bartók. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the music of Beethoven, Chopin, and Schumann. Her performances are characterized by their technical brilliance, emotional depth, and musical sensitivity. In addition to her career as a concert pianist, María Rey-Joly is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid.
