Damas received his early music education at the National Conservatory of Lisbon, where he studied under the guidance of renowned violinist Gerardo Ribeiro. He later went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he received a scholarship to study under the tutelage of renowned violinist György Pauk.
