Born on January 15, 1985, in Tokyo, Japan, Liliko showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music as a career. Liliko's parents enrolled her in a music school where she received formal training in piano. She showed exceptional talent and quickly progressed through the ranks. By the age of ten, Liliko had won several local competitions and had begun performing in public. In 1997, Liliko won the prestigious Yamaha Music Foundation Scholarship, which allowed her to study at the Yamaha Music School in Tokyo. She continued to excel in her studies and won several awards, including the Yamaha Music Foundation Scholarship for three consecutive years. In 2003, Liliko was accepted into the Juilliard School in New York City, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. She moved to the United States and began studying under the tutelage of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax.
