The concert was broadcast live on television and was attended by thousands of people. In 2012, Osesp performed at the BBC Proms in London, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world. The orchestra performed works by Brazilian composers, including Villa-Lobos and Camargo Guarnieri, as well as Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5. The concert was conducted by Marin Alsop, who became the first woman to conduct the Last Night of the Proms in 2013. Osesp has also won several awards over the years. In 2002, the orchestra won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Classical Album, for their recording of Villa-Lobos' Symphony No. 10.
