He was the son of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Albertini's talent was recognized early on, and he was accepted into the Milan Conservatory at the age of ten. He studied under some of the most prominent music teachers of the time, including Carlo Zecchi and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. He graduated from the conservatory with top honors and went on to pursue a career in music. In 1950, Albertini made his debut as a solo pianist at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The performance was a huge success, and he was praised for his technical skill and musicality. This marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career in music. Over the years, Albertini performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. He was known for his virtuosity and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he played. One of the highlights of Albertini's career was his performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 1963. The performance was recorded and released on vinyl, and it remains one of the most celebrated recordings of the concerto to this day. In addition to his performances as a solo pianist, Albertini was also a sought-after chamber musician.
