Born in Munich, Germany in 1960, Schliessmann showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, where he received a diploma with distinction, and later at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he earned a Master of Music degree. He also studied with some of the most renowned pianists of the 20th century, including Claudio Arrau, Leon Fleisher, and György Sebők. Throughout his career, Schliessmann has been recognized for his exceptional talent and artistry.
