Werner Pees is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in Germany, Pees showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at a young age. He was born on January 1, 1950, in the city of Frankfurt, Germany. His parents were both music lovers, and they encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Pees began his formal music education at the age of six when he started taking piano lessons. He showed exceptional talent and quickly progressed through the ranks. By the time he was a teenager, he had already won several local music competitions. His talent did not go unnoticed, and he was soon invited to perform at various concerts and events. In 1968, Pees enrolled at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer, Karlheinz Stockhausen. During his time at the university, Pees honed his skills and developed a unique style that would later become his trademark. After completing his studies, Pees embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained a reputation for his technical prowess and his ability to interpret complex musical pieces. He performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Pees' most significant achievements was his performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73, also known as the "Emperor Concerto." He performed the piece with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1985, and the performance was widely acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. The concert was recorded and released as an album, which went on to win several awards. Pees has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Herbert von Karajan, Leonard Bernstein, and Claudio Abbado. He has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic. In addition to his successful career as a concert pianist, Pees has also made a name for himself as a composer. He has written several pieces for piano, as well as chamber music and orchestral works. Throughout his career, Pees has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the world of music. In 1992, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, one of the country's highest honors. He has also received the Echo Klassik award, the German Record Critics' Award, and the International Classical Music Award.
