The Weimarer Barock-Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that specializes in the performance of Baroque music. The ensemble was founded in 1991 in Weimar, Germany, by the harpsichordist and conductor Ludger Rémy. Since its founding, the ensemble has become one of the most respected and renowned Baroque ensembles in the world, known for its virtuosic performances and innovative interpretations of Baroque music. The Weimarer Barock-Ensemble is made up of a core group of musicians, including Ludger Rémy on harpsichord, Michael Freimuth on lute and theorbo, and Antje Weithaas on violin.
