Artist Info
Marco Fusi is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violinist, violist, and conductor. Born in Florence, Italy, in 1984, Fusi grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to classical music from a young age. His father was a cellist, and his mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that Fusi would follow in their footsteps. Fusi began playing the violin at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied at the Conservatory of Florence and later at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, Switzerland, where he earned his Master's degree in violin performance. During his studies, Fusi had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned violinists of our time, including Salvatore Accardo, Thomas Zehetmair, and György Kurtág. After completing his studies, Fusi began his professional career as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Fusi has also collaborated with some of the most renowned orchestras and conductors, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and Sir Simon Rattle. One of the highlights of Fusi's career was his performance of György Ligeti's Violin Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra in 2013. The performance was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising Fusi's virtuosity and musicality. Fusi has also been recognized for his performances of contemporary music, and he has premiered works by some of the most important composers of our time, including Salvatore Sciarrino, Helmut Lachenmann, and Rebecca Saunders. In addition to his work as a performer, Fusi is also a passionate educator and conductor. He has taught at some of the most prestigious music schools in Europe, including the Hochschule für Musik in Basel and the Conservatory of Florence. Fusi is also the founder and artistic director of the Ensemble Suono Giallo, a chamber music ensemble that specializes in contemporary music. Fusi has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, which recognizes outstanding young musicians. He has also been awarded the Swiss Ambassador's Award for his contributions to Swiss culture and the Italian President's Medal for his contributions to Italian culture. Despite his many accomplishments, Fusi remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to push the boundaries of classical music and to explore new and innovative ways of performing and interpreting the works of the great composers. With his talent, passion, and dedication, Marco Fusi is sure to remain a major force in the world of classical music for many years to come.More....
