She attended the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, England, where she studied with renowned violinist and teacher, Simon Fischer. After completing her studies at the Menuhin School, Russell went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree. After completing her studies, Russell began her professional career as a violinist. She quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile musician, and she was soon in demand as a soloist and chamber musician. Russell has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. One of the highlights of Russell's career was her performance of Bach's complete solo violin works at the Wigmore Hall in London. The performance was a marathon event, lasting over six hours, and it received critical acclaim. Russell's interpretation of Bach's music was praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. Russell has also made a name for herself as a violist. She is a founding member of the Fitzwilliam String Quartet, one of the world's leading chamber ensembles.
