The Minguet Quartett is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences around the world for over three decades. Founded in 1988 in Cologne, Germany, the quartet has become known for its innovative programming, technical precision, and emotional depth. The quartet takes its name from the Spanish philosopher and essayist José Ortega y Gasset's essay "The Minguet Quartet and the Art of Listening," which emphasizes the importance of active listening in the appreciation of music. The founding members of the quartet were Ulrich Isfort (violin), Annette Reisinger (violin), Aroa Sorin (viola), and Matthias Diener (cello). Over the years, the quartet has undergone some changes in its lineup, with Isfort and Diener remaining as the core members. The Minguet Quartett has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, and has collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians of our time. The quartet has also been invited to perform at some of the world's most prestigious music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. One of the highlights of the quartet's career was its performance of the complete string quartets of Beethoven at the Beethovenfest Bonn in 2007.
