His father was a renowned cellist, and his mother was a pianist. Jan grew up surrounded by music, and he started playing the piano at a very young age. Jan's parents recognized his talent early on, and they encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He started taking piano lessons when he was just five years old, and he quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. By the time he was a teenager, Jan was already performing in public, and he was winning awards in local competitions. In 2003, Jan was accepted into the Prague Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of some of the most respected piano teachers in the country.
