AmorArtis Chorus is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their stunning performances for over 75 years. The group was founded in 1948 by Johannes Somary, a conductor and music educator who had a passion for choral music. Somary believed that the beauty and power of choral music should be accessible to everyone, and he set out to create a group that would bring this music to life. The early years of AmorArtis Chorus were marked by a dedication to excellence and a commitment to exploring the full range of choral music. The group quickly gained a reputation for their impeccable performances, and they were soon invited to perform at some of the most prestigious venues in the world. One of their early highlights was a performance at Carnegie Hall in 1950, which was a major milestone for the group. Over the years, AmorArtis Chorus has continued to grow and evolve, always striving to push the boundaries of what is possible in choral music. They have performed with some of the most renowned conductors and soloists in the world, and have collaborated with a wide range of other artists and ensembles. Some of their most notable performances include a 1985 performance of Handel's Messiah at Lincoln Center, a 1990 performance of Bach's St. Matthew Passion at Carnegie Hall, and a 2005 performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
