The Gürzenich Chorus of Cologne is a renowned classical music artist that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over 150 years. The choir was founded in 1827 by Ferdinand Hiller, a German composer, conductor, and pianist. Hiller was a student of Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert, and he was determined to create a choir that would rival the best in Europe. The Gürzenich Chorus of Cologne quickly gained a reputation for excellence, and they were soon performing in some of the most prestigious venues in Europe. In 1857, the choir was invited to perform at the inauguration of the Cologne Cathedral, which was attended by the King of Prussia and other dignitaries.
