Stefan Tsiganchev is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. Born on May 12, 1985, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Stefan showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Stefan's musical journey began at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, where he studied piano under the guidance of Professor Milena Mollova. He later continued his studies at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance. During his studies, Stefan participated in numerous competitions and won several awards, including the First Prize at the National Piano Competition "Svetoslav Obretenov" in 2002 and the Second Prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Barletta" in Italy in 2005. After completing his studies, Stefan continued to hone his skills and broaden his musical horizons by attending masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Boris Berman, Peter Donohoe, and Jerome Rose. He also participated in various music festivals, including the International Summer Academy "Mozarteum" in Salzburg, Austria, and the International Piano Festival "Piano aux Jacobins" in Toulouse, France. Stefan's talent and hard work paid off when he won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Sulmona" in Italy in 2009. This was a significant achievement for Stefan, as the competition was highly competitive, with participants from all over the world. The win brought him international recognition and opened doors for him to perform in prestigious venues around the world. Since then, Stefan has performed in numerous concerts and recitals in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He has also performed in prestigious venues such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Festival Hall in London, and the Salle Cortot in Paris. Stefan's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance, musicality, and emotional depth. He has a unique ability to connect with his audience and convey the essence of the music he plays. His repertoire includes works by classical composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin, as well as contemporary composers such as Ligeti, Schnittke, and Pärt. In addition to his performances, Stefan is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught piano at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia and has given masterclasses in various countries. In 2019, he was awarded the "Golden Feather" award by the Union of Bulgarian Journalists for his contribution to the promotion of Bulgarian culture and music.
