Born in London in 1961, Hind began playing the piano at the age of five and went on to study at the Royal College of Music and later at the Juilliard School in New York. Hind's career as a performer began in the 1980s, and he quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso pianist with a particular interest in contemporary music. He has worked with many of the leading composers of our time, including Harrison Birtwistle, Elliott Carter, and György Ligeti, and has premiered numerous works by these and other composers.
