Stefan Kocán is a Slovakian bass-baritone opera singer who has gained international recognition for his powerful and expressive performances. Born on February 6, 1964, in Bratislava, Slovakia, Kocán grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a conductor and his mother was a pianist, so he was exposed to classical music from a young age. Kocán began his musical education at the Bratislava Conservatory, where he studied piano and voice. He later continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he received a degree in opera singing.
