He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Dickson showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Dickson was enrolled in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Junior Department, where he received formal training in piano performance. In 2010, Dickson was invited to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival, one of the world's most prestigious classical music events.
