Regis Pasquier is a renowned French violinist who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Born on January 20, 1949, in Marseille, France, Pasquier grew up in a family of musicians. His father, Pierre Pasquier, was a violinist, and his mother, Genevieve Pasquier, was a pianist. His siblings, Bruno Pasquier and Roland Pasquier, are also accomplished musicians. Pasquier began playing the violin at the age of five and showed exceptional talent from an early age. He studied at the Conservatoire de Marseille and later at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he won first prize in violin performance at the age of 16. He continued his studies with renowned violinists such as Henryk Szeryng and Yehudi Menuhin. He was a founding member of the Pasquier Trio, which was formed in 1976 with his brothers Bruno and Roland. The trio performed together for over 30 years and recorded extensively, including the complete works of Beethoven for piano trio. In 1985, he was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government for his contribution to the arts.
