Donatienne Michel-Dansac is a French soprano known for her exceptional performances in contemporary classical music. She was born on December 22, 1961, in Paris, France. Her parents were both musicians, and she grew up in a musical environment. Her father was a composer, and her mother was a pianist. Donatienne started singing at a young age and showed a natural talent for music. Donatienne studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she received a degree in singing. She also studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg in Germany. During her studies, she developed a passion for contemporary classical music and started performing in this genre. Donatienne made her debut in 1986 at the Festival d'Automne in Paris, where she performed the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart's "The Magic Flute." In 1996, she was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government. In 2002, she received the Victoires de la Musique Classique award for Best Female Singer. She has also been awarded the Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros and the Diapason d'Or. Donatienne continues to perform and record contemporary classical music. She is known for her exceptional voice and her ability to bring new life to contemporary works.
